What is Storacha Crypto?

Storacha Network is a storage solution for web3 that enhances Filecoin with a scalable hot storage solution ensuring data retrieval via IPFS.

Using UCANs (User Controlled Authorization Networks) for trustless, local-first authorization, backed by the provable storage of Filecoin.

When files are uploaded to Storacha, data is converted into a graph of data structures, then packed into a Content Archive (CAR) before being sent to Storacha.

Storacha uses decentralized data and identity protocols like IPFS and UCANs, ensuring data & identity are referenced in an open way.

Data is referenced using IPFS content identifiers that are unique to the data, making data portable and accessible from anywhere broadcasting data to the IPFS network.

Authentication is associated with user decentralized identifiers (DIDs) that sign UCAN tokens these are cryptographically verified by Storacha, meaning identity is not determined by a central authentication server.

Create an account using your email address, set up a storage space, and begin uploading files that are automatically content-addressed and distributed across the network.

You can integrate Storacha into your projects through multiple developer-friendly methods designed for different use cases and technical preferences.

The platform offers a comprehensive CLI tool for quick uploads and management, JavaScript/TypeScript client libraries for web applications, a Go client for backend services, and an intuitive web console for non-technical users.

All uploaded content becomes immediately accessible through standard IPFS gateways and can be retrieved by any IPFS node worldwide.

Who governs the Storacha network?

Currently maintained by Storacha team, users have complete control & access rights with granular permisioning e.g. provide 30 day access only, revokable anytime via the User Controlled Authorization Networks (UCANs).
