What is Spexi Crypto?

Spexi is an app that rewards drone pilots for flying autonomous missions, capturing high-resolution imagery, and uploading the resulting data to the LayerDrone network. The first platform to offer standardized aerial imagery at scale and on demand by leveraging a network of hobby drones and pilots, Spexi is the founding core contributor to the LayerDrone network. 

What is LayerDrone?

LayerDrone is a decentralized protocol that was spun out from Spexi Geospatial Inc to accelerate network growth and innovation. By establishing LayerDrone as an open network protocol rather than a closed platform, it creates the foundation for massive innovation in spatial AI—similar to how open internet protocols enabled the explosion of web applications.

What is the LayerDrone token?

A utility token will power the LayerDrone network and its larger ecosystem, acting as the primary incentive for network growth. More information on the network token will be shared closer to the LayerDrone’s Mainnet launch.

How can I mine LayerDrone tokens?

The LayerDrone Foundation plans to distribute tokens as part of its community building efforts. Currently, contributors to the LayerDrone network can earn two kinds of points that are tracked by the LayerDrone foundation: Reputation Points (RP) for pilot contributions, and Experience Points (XP) for non-pilot contributions.

Pilot contributions to the LayerDrone network are made through the Spexi app, where drone pilots can see a map of their area and open zones where they can fly autonomous missions to earn cash and/or RP rewards. These zones are called “Spexigons”. The imagery pilots collect and upload enhances the LayerDrone network, enabling better decision-making by organizations that leverage its imagery. RP is used to track pilot reputation, and is currently used by pilots to reserve open Spexigon missions. RP amounts are viewable through LayerDrone service providers, like the Spexi app. 

Non-pilot contributions to the LayerDrone network, like providing community support, are rewarded XP and tracked through the LayerDrone task board on Zealy.

More information on token allocation and distribution will be shared by the LayerDrone Foundation closer to the network's Mainnet launch. 

How can I optimize my LayerDrone mining rewards?

Anyone can earn XP, but RP and cash rewards are currently exclusive to pilots who complete Spexigon missions for the LayerDrone network through the Spexi app. 

A pilot’s earning potential will depend on the time they have to fly Spexigons, the number of open Spexigons in their area, and how often the platform needs those Spexigons to be flown. A Spexigon typically takes around 7 minutes to complete, but travel time to mission location varies, as does demand for updated Spexigons. 

More information about rewards distribution will be announced by the LayerDrone Foundation prior to the network’s Mainnet release.

How can I use the LayerDrone network?

As the network’s founding core contributor, the Spexi platform is the most common way to access and contribute to the LayerDrone network. To use the Spexi app, you must be a drone pilot with a compatible device and drone. Pilots are rewarded with RP and/or cash rewards for flying and uploading mission data to the LayerDrone network. 

Anyone can access the LayerDrone network community via its discord. Community contributions that do not require flying a drone are rewarded XP and tracked through the LayerDrone task board on Zealy.
